| The Texas XD
Practical Shooters Association is a shooting group dedicated
to helping members become
more proficient with their Springfield Armory XD pistols. At the time
of this writing, it is the only known, organized, XD-specific shooting
group in existence. We are based in the Houston area, but have over 100
members all over the gulf coast region, the Dallas/Ft Worth area, the
San Antonio area, and the Austin area. We have a very diverse member
base with people from all walks of life, and we welcome
those new to the XD, new to shooting, and new to the shooting
sports. We gather once a month for club matches that are designed to
hone practical shooting skills. There are currently no
membership fees or annual dues, but we ask members to consider making
small donations with their range fee at the monthly matches to help pay
for supplies, website/forum maintenance, etc. Every effort is made to
keep member costs to a minimum. We are not directly affiliated
with IDPA or USPSA, but we have adapted rules and procedures
from both to suit our own needs. We have succeeded to provide a very
safe, but laid-back atmosphere that we think is attractive to both new
shooters and seasoned members alike For detailed information, feel free to visit the TXDPSA forum. There is a thread titled "What is TXDPSA?" that answers most frequently asked questions about our group. If you have additional questions or want membership information, please post in that same forum section or visit the "Contact Us" page of the website. Thanks for your time. Please visit the forum, as you will find that we are as much a social group as we are a shooting group. I think most members will agree that some shooting groups are just that...but the atmosphere, the camaraderie and the friendships forged here make TXDPSA a step above the rest. |
